ASKR Jewelry’s Annual Service Awards ceremony was
held in April 2007 to recognize long standing employees.
24K Gold Coins were awarded to employees with more than
10 years of service at the company.
ASKR Jewelry took part in the Lanka Equities Group Sports
Day on the twentieth of January 2007 and won several awards.
This activity was arranged to build and strengthen inter-group
company relationships and to identify talent.
A talent search was organized at ASKR Jewelry to improve
team work. Each team was given a jewelry item to complete
which was checked for all quality perspectives of the work.
The idea was to make them engage in the process and to show
the importance of building team work.
We have introduced the Japanese system 5S as an activity
of improving productivity through employee involvement and
to encourage good housekeeping methods.
The 5S are as follows:
1) Sort (Seiri)
2) Straighten (Seiton)
3) Shine (Seiso)
4) Standardize (Seiketsu)
5) Sustain (Shitsuke)
Several activities have been implemented inside the factory
such as Poster Campaigns, Cleaning Campaigns and Education
Jewelry New Year celebrations were held on the eve of the
Sinhalese and Tamil New Year, which all ASKR employees enjoyed.
